Senior Physician Medical Director
Gary Gansar, MD, is residency-trained in general surgery. He previously served as Chief of Surgery and Staff at Elmwood Medical Center and on the Medical Executive Committee at Touro Infirmary and Mercy Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Gansar also served as Clinical Instructor and Professor of Surgery at Tulane University. Dr. Gansar was Board Certified in general surgery while in active practice.
Dr. Gansar received his MD at Tulane University Medical School, where he served as Chief Resident. He joined AMFS as a consulting medical expert in 2011 and has served as an AMFS Physician Medical Director since 2015.

Physician Medical Director
Alain Ades, MD, is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology with more than thirty-five years of experience spanning clinical practice, healthcare leadership, academic medicine, and quality oversight.
Dr. Ades served as a founding physician of Seacoast Gastroenterology and established the Gastroenterology Department at Exeter Hospital, where he developed advanced clinical services and led quality management and guideline development for more than two decades. He also served as Chief of Internal Medicine and as a member of the Medical Executive Committee, with responsibilities that included credentialing, peer review, policy development, and institutional governance.
In academic medicine, Dr. Ades held appointments as Clinical Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and as Lecturer and Section Director at Northeastern University’s Bouvé College of Health Sciences, where he supervised, evaluated, and educated medical trainees.
Dr. Ades has also contributed to public health policy through his service on the New Hampshire Legislative Subcommittee on Naloxone, an appointment made by the New Hampshire Board of Medicine and the Governor. In that role, he participated in the development and implementation of statewide opioid harm-reduction regulations.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ades has maintained a consistent focus on quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and objective medical leadership—experience that aligns directly with his responsibilities as a Physician Medical Director at AMFS.
